They will meet at noon on Wednesdays.  Plenty of paints, brushes, and boards are available at no cost and there are easels to use.

 The Garden Gourmet will meet on February 23rd at St. Johns Hall at 5-7pm. The theme is “Food Dear-to-Your Heart. This could mean foods that are healthy and good for your heart or just any of your favorite food! Anyone want to volunteer for a food demonstration?

 The Adventures in Reading Program begins Saturday Feb. 4th .  Call Ruth Craig for further details or to volunteer at 644-3534.

     What: Story time, activities and refreshments

      Who:  For children pre-school through 3rd Grade

      Where: Big Bay de Noc School Library

      When:  Saturday, February  4, February 11, February 25 and March 5.

      Time:  10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Cost:  Free!

 We will begin with several read-aloud books, have fun activities based on the books' themes, and serve light refreshments.  Although advertised for pre-school to 3rd grade, all ages are welcome. We appreciate an adult remaining with the younger children. Our last Saturday, March 3 will feature a local author of children's books!

Your support helps keep our programs going, our doors open, and the newsletter published!   As a member, you are a non-voting member of the organization, with a right to be informed of all corporate activities, a right to participate in all activities, and receive a newsletter. If you are a life time member or you have already paid your 2012 annual membership dues, you can help us in this membership drive by recruiting a new member .  Membership dues are $20.00 per person for the calendar year January 1 thru December 31st. Food, drinks, and live music were provided. We want to thank all the volunteers and those who donated items for the auction. There were 62 items donated to be auctioned off. On the left of this page click on the page... picture gallery/silent auction...to see the few pictures that were taken just before the event started. Once the auction got started, few pictures got taken since we all got caught up in the bidding, food, and the wonderful live music.

Tanna Leckson will be demonstrating making apple strudel. There will be cooking tips, recipes and tasting of Christmas Favorite Foods. If you have a favorite Christmas dish or recipe, bring it to share. If not, come anyway and enjoy the cooking, great food and company. There is no cost, however free will donations are excepted to pay for the use of the hall.

Local and regional  artists and craftspersons will be donating one-of-a-kind items specially created for this first ever art auction. Items for bid will be on display on Dec. 3rd during the Village Artisans Christmas Greens Sale. The items can also be seen on this website by clicking onto the picture gallery page. The auction takes place at 6:30pm on Dec. 10 and will include music, finger foods and drink as well as browsing time. Come join the fun!!

]]>Quilt Winner 2011http://www.villageartisansofgarden.org/home/2011/10/27/quilt-winner-2011.htmlJanet Daasch2011-10-27T16:20:58ZAt the annual membership meeting on Saturday October 22 at noon, Ethel Peterson, a member of the Village Artisans, drew the winning quilt ticket. Pat Rassmussen, Chairperson of the Quilt Committee, Scalled the home of Suzanne Carpenter to let her know that she won the Village Artisans quilt raffle. Suzanne Carpenter is from Comstock Park, MI. Lael Thelander, Manager of the Gallery will pack up the quilt and put it in the mail for Suzanne!

The Village Artisans Board of Directors also elected their officers at the annual membership meeting. New President is Ruth Craig. Lorelei continues as Vice President, Marlene Winter Johnson continues as Secretary. The Treasurer's position is open due to a resignation.

The Board served a pot luck lunch for the membership.
