Things to look forward to and mark your calendar;

 Mid April a newsletter telling you about dates for Gallery inventory drop off, Gallery Open House, etc.  along with "Consignor Contract" and "Inventory" sheet. 

 Saturday May 8, 2010 inventory drop-off from 10am-4pm with a potluck lunch at noon.

Thursday May 27, 2010 kick off of the new season with our annual Open House 5-8pm

We are having a mild winter so I hope you are spending some time inside working on inventory for the May drop-off (date will be set later).  Minor changes (phone numbers, dates, etc) are being made in the Consigning Policy, Contract, and Inventory sheet which you can view and print from the web-page.  As in the past you will also receive this information with a letter that will go out to 2009 consignors early in April.  If you know of anyone in the area who is doing an unusual type of art encourage them to contact a Gallery board member to have their art juried and become a consignor.

The Holiday Open House on November 20, 21, and 22 was a great success.  The comment of the day was "I hope you will do this again next year".  We plan on it.

The snow is flying  but time goes fast and the Gallery Open House in May will be here before you know it.   Get those creative juices flowing.

As I write only 10 days left before the Gallery closes.  We are still seeing customers come in and inventory going out to a new home.

                                                          DON'T FORGET

• October 24th:  Get those last minute Christmas gifts for someone (or yourself) as the Gallery closes for another season at 5pm.  The Garden Church is having their annual Silent Auction, bake sale, and luncheon.  The Fall Bazaar at St. John's Hall.
• October 31st:  10am-2pm Inventory Pick-up (if you aren't leaving your inventory for November sale).  Potluck lunch at noon
• November 20, 21, & 22:  Christmas Open House at the Gallery

Rain, wind, power outages, leaves changing color, frost on the pumpkins, deer apples and corn for sale on every corner..........Fall Is Here!  Another beautiful change of seasons on the Garden Peninsula. September was a good month for the Gallery as sales were above September 2008 sales.  Other exciting news for the Gallery is our link on www.exploringthenorth.com  and the visit from a free-lance writer for the magazine Midwest Living.  Missy Smith and a customer were interviewed and pictures taken.   We were told the article about the Gallery (along with others in the UP) will be in the October 2010 issue.  Saturday, October 3^rd, was October Fest.  The day started with rain so the booths were moved inside to the art room and the American Legion moved across the road onto a dry covered porch.   The American Legion did well and the sandwiches were delicious.  The traffic in and out of the Gallery was steady all day and sales were good.  

 INVENTORY PICK-UP and Potluck lunch is scheduled for October 31st from 10A.M.-2 P.M. with lunch at noon.  If you are picking up your inventory this day call the Gallery and leave your name.  We will have your inventory grouped for you, but bring your own packing materials.  Remember:   you can leave your inventory for the November 20, 21 and 22 Open House.  E-mail me at laelthelander@yahoo.com, call the Gallery or call a board member by October 24th if you are participating in the November Open House.
