February Events
Our Painting Group will again meet at the back room of the Village Artisans beginning February 1st. We would love to have anyone interested come and join them. They will meet at noon on Wednesdays. Plenty of paints, brushes, and boards are available at no cost and there are easels to use.
The Garden Gourmet will meet on February 23rd at St. Johns Hall at 5-7pm. The theme is “Food Dear-to-Your Heart. This could mean foods that are healthy and good for your heart or just any of your favorite food! Anyone want to volunteer for a food demonstration?
The Adventures in Reading Program begins Saturday Feb. 4th . Call Ruth Craig for further details or to volunteer at 644-3534.

What: Story time, activities and refreshments
Who: For children pre-school through 3rd Grade
Where: Big Bay de Noc School Library
When: Saturday, February 4, February 11, February 25 and March 5.
Time: 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Cost: Free!
We will begin with several read-aloud books, have fun activities based on the books' themes, and serve light refreshments. Although advertised for pre-school to 3rd grade, all ages are welcome. We appreciate an adult remaining with the younger children. Our last Saturday, March 3 will feature a local author of children's books!
2012 Membership Drive, January 2012-December 2012:
The time has come for our annual membership drive. Our first annual Village Artisans membership drive was in 2009. In these last three years we have appreciated your continued support! Your support helps keep our programs going, our doors open, and the newsletter published! As a member, you are a non-voting member of the organization, with a right to be informed of all corporate activities, a right to participate in all activities, and receive a newsletter. If you are a life time member or you have already paid your 2012 annual membership dues, you can help us in this membership drive by recruiting a new member . Membership dues are $20.00 per person for the calendar year January 1 thru December 31st. Lifetime membership is $150.00. Send membership to Village Artisans, P.O. 81, Garden, MI 49835. Silent Auction
Our Silent Auction on Saturday December 10 at 6:30 at the Village Artisans was a huge sucess. Food, drinks, and live music were provided. We want to thank all the volunteers and those who donated items for the auction. There were 62 items donated to be auctioned off. On the left of this page click on the page... picture gallery/silent auction...to see the few pictures that were taken just before the event started. Once the auction got started, few pictures got taken since we all got caught up in the bidding, food, and the wonderful live music.
Garden Gourmets-Thursday December 8
The Village Artisans's Garden Gourmets will meet at St. John's Hall on December 8 from 5-7pm. Tanna Leckson will be demonstrating making apple strudel. There will be cooking tips, recipes and tasting of Christmas Favorite Foods. If you have a favorite Christmas dish or recipe, bring it to share. If not, come anyway and enjoy the cooking, great food and company. There is no cost, however free will donations are excepted to pay for the use of the hall.
Holiday Greens & Centerpiece Sale
Shop at the Village Artisans Sale on December 3 from 10am to 3pm for your holiday greens in the front room of the Village Artisans Building since the Garden Gallery is closed for the season. Cash and check only. The Village Artisans will also have the arts and crafts on display for their December 10 Silent Auction. You will be able to bid on the items on December 3rd. Village Artisan Members can come to the workshop to make the greens on the Friday before the sale. Call Ruth Craig, 644-3534 for information.
